About Me
My interest in adventure travel was created during my years as a child. Growing up in an immigrant household in Orange County California, we didn’t have the means to travel. With both parents constantly working, my travels were based on how far I could peddle my bicycle. At the time, The Travel Channel or Anthony Bourdain didn’t exist so the only way I saw the world was by watching nature shows, Jacques Cousteau, or through National Geographic magazines before NAT GEO. Now that I’m able to travel I’ve been able to obtain my childhood travel bucket list of Brazil, Belize, Galapagos, and Alaska. I consider myself a citizen of the world, a Hobo waiting for the next train and wondering its destination. I’ve created this site to share my past and future expeditions in hopes to entertain, educate, and peak your interest in travel.
Travel inevitably opens your mind to so many things so I also created an Introspection page to address my inner thoughts and feelings.
The world is too beautiful just to see in images:
‘DON’T JUST SEE THE WORLD, SEE YOURSELF IN IT’
I hope to see you on the road.

Your blog sounds really interesting, I’ve been to Galapagos myself, I was fascinated by Darwin’s trip and I can’t wait to read your adventure in Alaska. Because it’s also a dream destination for me. But I have a confession to make. The background of your blog is hurting so much my eyes. The little dots, they are distracting you from the text (especially because the text is grey). Don’t take it wrong, I just want to be constructive 🙂

Funny you mention that, I’m working on my Galapagos blog now. Thanks for the feedback, I’ll keep that in mind.

Hello! I love your blog, so I am nominating it for a Liebster Award. If you have received a Liebster nod before, then you deserve another! It is really just a way to spread the love in the blogosphere, but I have seen several I haven’t nominated, so you’re special. 🙂 Don’t feel like you have to participate, but I thought it was fun.

You’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award. I apologize if you’ve already been nominated, but then again…it could be a good thing if it brings us more followers! I was nominated and picked 10 blogs to nominate. Some are under 200 followers, some are not. These are blogs that really spoke to me and the timer cut me off from spending too much more time scrolling the blogo-sphere looking for new blogs!
So just go here http://dawnengler.com/2015/03/20/liebster-award-nomination/ for all the pertinent info!

Haha I thought I read your quote as “Don’t just see the world, see it yourself” and I thought whoa… that is a great observation of people travelling digitally (seeing pics) versus physically (visiting in person)!
And then I realized I’d read it wrong lol but it’s still great! Awesome motto!

You have a great site and I love your about statement of only having the means to travel as far as you bicycle could take you. As a child, I oftern dreamed of far off places based on the televisons show like the Marlin Perkins, Wild Kingdom and others. I will follow your journey as I begin my traveld of the US by RV, touring the US National Parks, with a focus on hiking. 🙂
