Trail Flowers
Trail Flowers
Hiking can be a grueling form of exercise and so time-consuming if your trail is of the longer variety. Recently, I’ve been doing more local hikes in the Orange County area of Southern California and I’ve noticed something I neglected to realize. The semi-arid environment can bear some wonderful landscapes and desert flowers. I rarely hike without my camera now. I look forward to every hike and enjoy every vista and desert flora the hillsides have to offer. I’ll further post about these hikes but, now, I just want to share some of the beautiful flowers I’ve encountered. I just hope I captured the essence of each trail flower.
Beautiful! Where exactly were these pictures taken?

These flowers are lovely. Thanks for the photos–this flower geek can never get enough. It’s interesting to see the many different kinds of mariposa lily, the yellow fuzzy one with three petals. I’ve got images of flowers in the mariposa lily family in two posts on my blog, which you can find through a search.
