Snapshot Sunday – Chasing Waterfalls
Chasing waterfalls
The explorers looked for new passages and conquistadors lusted for gold with the same enthusiasm as todays travelers chasing waterfalls. They are said to be the legendary source of rainbows. Waterfalls exude power while the mesmerizing sound has a calming effect on your psyche. A photogenic earthly anomaly worth the trek. I can’t determine the exact reason for its magnetic draw, what is it that attracts you?

I’ve read that waterfalls create “negative ions,” I’m a little shaky on the science of it, but I think basically giving an electrical charge to the surrounding air. Which has a positive effect on our health and mental state. I don’t pretend to know if this is all true, but I do know that I love waterfalls, and feel great whenever I see them! So thanks for all the waterfall snaps!

Pure conjecture here. Beyond the obvious beauty of waterfalls, I think there is something about how dependent we are on water to survive that compels us as a species to seek them out. I know that personally I am drawn to the power of rushing water–the sight, the sound, and sometimes the feel of the ground shaking beneath my feet nearby.
