The golden hour of sunrise and the exotic location of the Serengeti, that’s the combination every person desires. An eye-popping vista worth the agonizing lengthy plane ride and whatever expense was giving to be at the right spot at the right time.

Add in some zebras, Thompson’s gazelles and impalas to create an even more dramatic effect, if the shot even needed the extra sprinkles on top. Or you can just place the rising sun behind a lonely tree and watch as the rays of the sun filters through its branches creating an illuminating hallo accent. I’m sure these animals were out hear for one purpose and that was to in joy the sunrise as it is slowly crest the surrounding mountains and irradiates the Great Rift Valley. At the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the sunrise has an additional allure of danger as it marks the hunters time to rise as there hunting grounds are illuminated. It was definitely worth the early morning wakeup call and dressing in the dark as my tent didn’t have electricity at these hours.
